Dear FUNARTE,  I am so proud to have belonged to this organization. Throughout the past three months I have really looked up to my fellow co-workers and I am honoured to have worked with them. These people work so hard to ensure that the children of Nicaragua can get a better future. The warm greetings, respect, and attentiveness that I have received at FUNARTE is unparalleled. Working with the children has made me open my eyes to how happy and innocent children are, no matter what their fortunes are in life. FUNARTE is an organization with deep roots in positivity, happiness, and laughter; this is what I have learned while working here. Everyone is treated equally, and everyone is important.

 I am a student at the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada. I study world
religions and history. I participated in a program called ´Beyond Borders´ through my university that gave me the opportunity to come to Nicaragua to work with FUNARTE for three months. In this time FUNARTE has taught me so much about community and development. |

De Enero a Julio del 2007 realicé un voluntariado en el Mayfield Art Center, en la ciudad de Cork, Ireland Este voluntariado me permitió enriquecer mis conocimientos y experiencias como mujer artista y educadora. En ese tiempo adquirí la capacidad de organizar y dirigir un proceso de realización de un mural con jóvenes en situación de riesgo y personas con capacidades diferentes. |
